You Ask - I Answer
If this is your first experience with therapy, you may have some questions that are covered in the Q&A section below. That way, in the initial session we can focus more on what you're looking for in therapy and your needs and expectations. You are of course welcome to ask questions at any time.
How long does each therapy session last?
Individual sessions last 50 minutes. Relationship/Family sessions last approximately twice as long.
Where do sessions take place?
I offer face-to-face sessions in Prague, as well as online sessions via Skype, Zoom, Telegram or another platform that suits you.
Do you provide discounts? Can my insurance cover the cost of sessions?
The first consultation is free. I can also provide a 5% discount for 4 or more sessions paid in advance. Insurance companies usually cover 5 sessions; however, you should contact your insurer regarding coverage for sessions with a private therapist and counsellor.
What techniques/approaches do you use?
I use a variety of techniques from various school of thought in psychology depending on the client's needs and situation. No type of therapy works perfectly for everyone. However, I prefer a humanistic approach and perceive the client as a whole, although I incorporate tools and techniques from other well-established theories and methods (e.g. psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive).
How many sessions might I need? How often should I come?
This is highly individual and depends on your needs and goals. You may feel that you've achieved your aims after several sessions or you might decide that you need more to tackle deeper problems. Regardless, it's important to keep in mind that therapy is a process, not a quick fix.
Can I have a session outside working hours?
I aim to provide flexibility where possible. Sessions can be arranged outside working hours or even during weekends or holidays. Please contact me and we will choose a day and time that suits us both.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Sessions may be cancelled no later than 24 hours in advance without charge.
